Medical Director, Cardiometabolic Health Program

This physician leader will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of cardiometabolic care by combining strategic leadership in clinical care model design with hands-on virtual clinical practice. The role involves delivering virtual cardiometabolic specialty care and partnering with employers and payers to translate clinical efforts into client-facing solutions that improve population health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver direct (patient-facing) and indirect (provider-to-provider) virtual cardiometabolic specialty care
  • Provide clinical oversight for cardiometabolic health programs for designated clients, ensuring safe, effective, and compliant care, and offering strategic guidance to achieve quality standards and clinical results
  • Collaborate with front-line clinical and cross-functional teams to design, pilot, and scale innovative integrated cardiometabolic care models
  • Translate population health data and risk stratification into actionable care pathways
  • Partner with internal teams—including sales, marketing, and client-facing groups—providing clinical expertise for key presentations and discussions
  • Represent Teladoc Health externally on topics related to chronic condition management and cardiometabolic care innovation
  • Partner with our Clinical Research team to generate evidence and insights for white papers and peer-reviewed publications that demonstrate the impact of our cardiometabolic solutions
Required
  • MD/DO with fellowship training in Endocrinology or Cardiology with a focus on cardiometabolic conditions; active medical license required
  • 3+ years of direct patient care experience following fellowship completion
  • Proven track record in virtual care delivery, digital health, or healthcare technology, with the ability to adapt to rapid change and ambiguity
  • Expertise in evidence-based clinical care model design, clinical quality improvement, and outcomes measurement
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex clinical concepts to non-clinical audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across clinical and non-clinical teams, including operations, product, engineering, marketing, commercial, and other functions in a highly matrixed corporate environment
  • Strong prioritization, time management, and organizational skills, with meticulous attention to detail; ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments with multiple competing priorities
Preferred
  • Full-time experience in dedicated virtual care or digital health organizations focused on cardiometabolic conditions
  • Extensive experience in delivering virtual patient care as a specialist for common cardiometabolic conditions beyond the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Expertise in value-based care delivery with a proven track record of maximizing clinical outcomes while managing total cost of care

Summary Of Position

Teladoc Health is seeking an experienced specialist physician to serve as Medical Director, Cardiometabolic Health.

This physician leader will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of cardiometabolic care at Teladoc Health—combining strategic leadership in clinical care model design with hands-on virtual clinical practice. This is an individual contributor leadership position requiring deep clinical expertise in cardiometabolic conditions, a passion for virtual care delivery, and the ability to operate strategically and rapidly deliver clinical solutions in the evolving virtual care and digital health landscape. The Medical Director will also partner with employers and payers to translate these efforts into client-facing solutions that improve population health outcomes.

Note: While responsibilities may vary based on organizational needs, candidates should expect that the majority of their time will ultimately be dedicated to virtual patient care

Essential Duties

  • Deliver direct (patient-facing) and indirect (provider-to-provider) virtual cardiometabolic specialty care

This is a fully remote role with in the U.S. occasional travel (<10%) may be required.

The base salary range for this position is $230,000- $240,000. In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here Teladoc Health Benefits 2026. Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications. This information is applicable for all full-time positions.
