Medical Director – Spine & Performance

The Medical Director – Spine & Performance serves as the clinical leader and strategic driver of medical services, blending hands-on patient care with leadership responsibilities. This role oversees clinical quality, guides interdisciplinary collaboration, and advances innovative, non-operative and performance-based spine care models.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical oversight and medical direction for spine and performance-related services
  • Establish, maintain, and enforce evidence-based clinical protocols and standards of care
  • Ensure compliance with all medical, ethical, and regulatory requirements
  • Deliver high-quality evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of spine and musculoskeletal conditions
  • Collaborate with physical therapists, chiropractors, performance specialists, and other providers to deliver integrated care plans
  • Support non-surgical, regenerative, and performance-focused treatment pathways when appropriate
  • Lead, mentor, and support clinical staff across disciplines
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and clinical training initiatives
  • Partner with executive leadership to shape the clinical vision and service offerings
  • Support the development of new programs, performance services, and care pathways
  • Serve as a clinical ambassador for FX Spine & Performance Center in the community, with referral partners, and at professional events
  • Monitor clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and performance metrics
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and clinical case reviews
  • Stay current with emerging research, technologies, and best practices in spine and performance medicine
Required
  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in a relevant specialty (e.g., PM&R, Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, Anesthesiology with spine focus, Neurology, or related field)
  • Active, unrestricted medical license (or ability to obtain)
  • Demonstrated experience in spine care and/or musculoskeletal medicine
Preferred
  • Prior leadership or medical director experience
  • Experience in multidisciplinary or integrative clinical settings
  • Background or strong interest in sports medicine, performance optimization, or regenerative medicine
  • Strong communication, leadership, and team-building skills

Position Summary

The Medical Director – Spine & Performance serves as the clinical leader and strategic driver of FX Spine & Performance Center’s medical services. This role blends hands-on patient care with leadership responsibilities, overseeing clinical quality, guiding interdisciplinary collaboration, and advancing innovative, non-operative and performance-based spine care models.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership

Provide clinical oversight and medical direction for spine and performance-related services

Establish, maintain, and enforce evidence-based clinical protocols and standards of care

Ensure compliance with all medical, ethical, and regulatory requirements

Patient Care

Deliver high-quality evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of spine and musculoskeletal conditions

Collaborate with physical therapists, chiropractors, performance specialists, and other providers to deliver integrated care plans

Team & Program Development
