Responsible for providing direct inpatient clinical care and managing medical problems of acutely ill, hospitalized, adult, non-surgical patients. The Hospitalist leads the interdisciplinary team to improve efficiency and facilitate continuum of care for patients from admission through discharge, including general adult medicine, internal medicine consults, critical care management, and management of patients with comorbidities.

- • Managing general adult medicine, internal medicine consults as requested, critical care management and management of patients with comorbidities
- • Carrying out assigned duties displaying the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct
- • Acting in the best interest of Sentara Medical Group and Sentara Healthcare, supporting mission, vision and values to optimize the health and well-being of patients
Required
- • Residency and board certification must be in area of specialty
- • Board eligible physicians will be considered
- • Certification must be obtained within 4 years of eligibility
