This role involves providing surgical services, training medical students, residents, and fellows, managing on-call coverage, and coordinating pre-op and post-op patient care. The candidate will also respond to consultation requests and contribute to program development within the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute, with opportunities for leadership and research collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- • Providing surgical services at Northwestern Medicine’s downtown Chicago location
- • Training medical students, residents, and vascular surgery fellows
- • On-call coverage
- • Rounding and caring for pre-op and post-op patients in concert with the clinical team
- • Responding to daily local consultation requests and referrals
- • Playing a vital role in the growth and coordination of care and other distinctive program development throughout the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute
- • Participating in academic programs of the Feinberg School of Medicine, including educational programs (training, preceptorship, mentoring) and research programs (participation in clinical trials, referring patients for clinical trials)
Required
- • Strong background in clinical vascular and endovascular surgery
- • Completed an ACGME-accredited vascular surgery fellowship/residency program
- • Board-eligible or board certified in vascular surgery
Preferred
- • Mid- and early career candidates are preferred

Qualified candidates must have a strong background in clinical vascular and endovascular surgery, have completed an ACGME-accredited vascular surgery fellowship/residency program, and are board-eligible or board certified in vascular surgery. Mid- and early career candidates are preferred. Physicians in this position may participate in academic programs of the Feinberg School of Medicine, including educational programs (e.g., training, preceptorship, mentoring, etc.) or research programs (e.g., participation in clinical trials, referring patients for clinical trials, etc.).
The start date is negotiable and the position will remain open until filled.
The expected base pay range for this position is $500,000 - $525,000
Northwestern University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree, training, and field or discipline; departmental budget availability; internal comparators; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
