Assistant Professor of Clinical - Interventional Radiology

Provides medical care through minimally invasive image-guided diagnosis and treatment of disease. Focuses on clinical care, research, and training of residents and fellows across multiple UM/JMH locations. Clinic days and academic time are assigned by the Chairman with priority for combining academic and clinic time when possible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret interventional radiology imaging studies and perform interventional procedures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new and innovative interventional procedures.
  • Be responsible for evaluating patients both pre and post intervention and contribute to the expansion of outpatient clinics for interventional procedures.
  • Supervise performance of technical personnel.
  • Evaluate and consult new referrals and follow up patients in IR clinic.
  • Exercise quality assurance as related to the practice of interventional imaging.
  • Provide interventional imaging consultation as requested.
  • Provide emergency patient care as required in the setting of an Interventional radiology practice.
  • Be part of the on-call schedule in Interventional Radiology.
  • Assume administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Chairman related to the practice of interventional imaging.
  • Participate in teaching activities related to interventional radiology as required in residency/fellowship training programs, medical student education program, technological radiology educational programs, and continuing medical education programs.
  • Serve on Departmental, University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Medical Center committees and provide service to the same in other manners as requested.
  • Participate in research activities as an investigator and mentor.
  • In circumstances where emergency coverage is required as a result of shortages, including callouts or FMLA-related absences, rotation assignments may be modified accordingly, which may involve minimizing or temporarily reassigning academic, administrative, or research time to ensure continuity of clinical operations.
Required
  • Medical Degree from an accredited Medical School (or foreign equivalent)
  • Florida Medical License or equivalent
  • Florida DEA
  • ACLS, BLS, PALS
  • American Board of Radiology Certification or still in Board Eligible Status
  • Completion of an ACGME approved Fellowship or Resident Program in Vascular Interventional Radiology

JOB SUMMARY   

Assistant Professor of Clinical – Interventional Radiology provides medical care to large array of patients by providing minimally invasive image-guided diagnosis and treatment of disease The Assistant Professor of Clinical is focused on clinical care, research, and training of residents and fellows.  As assigned by the Chairman, the faculty member will provide service at the following UM/ JMH locations in Miami Dade and Broward County:   UHealth SoleMia, UHealth Doral, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, UHealth Tower Hospital, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center – Plantation, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center - Deerfield Beach, Lennar Foundation Medical  Center, and Jackson Memorial Hospital In addition to these locations, the faculty members will see patients in clinic, as assigned by the Chairman, at one or multiple locations at Desai Sethi Medical Center, UHealth SoleMia, UHealth Doral, and Lennar Foundation Medical  Center.  Clinic days to be assigned according to volume and starts at 1 half-day session per week.  Academic time to be assigned by the Chairman.  Priority will be made for academic and clinic time to be given on the same day when possible.

Education: 

  • Medical Degree from an accredited Medical School (or foreign equivalent),
