MTF Biologics
Ensures compliance of all medical related issues including donor or tissue acceptability for transplant with current MTF policies and procedures, applicable AATB Standards, and applicable government regulations. Acts as a consultant on issues related to disease transmission donor testing and donor criteria, and reviews donor records prior to tissue release. Provides on-call support and assists with special projects and donor eligibility questions.
Key Responsibilities
- • Authorizes medical/technical policies and procedures approved by the Medical Board of Trustees, relating to donor criteria, tissue recovery, processing, storage and distribution.
- • Reviews, approves and signs off on donor records prior to release of tissue for the processing and transplantation.
- • Acts as a consultant on issues that pertain to disease transmission donor testing and donor criteria.
- • Reviews reports of adverse reactions or incidents involving possible disease transition in conjunction with the Medical Director.
- • Provides On Call support to NOCCs.
- • Assists on special projects and performs additional duties as assigned.
- • Supports case managers with donor eligibility issues and questions.
- • Reviews daily IPBB reports.
- • Reviews daily residual records.
Required
- • Licensed physician in any state
- • Background and experience in infectious disease transmission and/or knowledge and experience in pathophysiology of disease.
- • Ability to travel on occasion.

Responsibilities
- Authorizes medical/technical policies and procedures approved by the Medical Board of Trustees, relating to donor criteria, tissue recovery, processing, storage and distribution.
- Reviews, approves and signs off on donor records prior to release of tissue for the processing and transplantation. Records to be reviewed by the Associate Medical Director include the following: current medical history, physical exam/inspection and donor laboratory test results, autopsy information (if performed), together with available previous medical history, and all other donor information as required by government regulation and AATB standards.
- Acts as a consultant on issues that pertain to disease transmission donor testing and donor criteria.
- Reviews reports of adverse reactions or incidents involving possible disease transition in conjunction with the Medical Director
- Provides On Call support to NOCCs
- Assists on special projects and performs additional duties as assigned.
