Pediatric Gastroenterologist Physician in Tampa, FL

The Pediatric Gastroenterologist will manage complex GI, hepatobiliary, and nutritional disorders in children across inpatient, outpatient, and procedural settings. The role involves diagnosing and treating a wide range of pediatric GI conditions, performing and interpreting diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, providing inpatient consultation and ambulatory clinic management, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, mentoring pediatric residents, and providing on-call coverage for emergencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of pediatric GI conditions, including IBS, IBD, celiac disease, reflux, hepatology, nutritional disorders, and motility issues.
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures upper/lower GI endoscopy, polypectomy, foreign body removal, liver biopsies, G‑tube placements, motility studies.
  • Provide comprehensive inpatient consultation and manage ambulatory clinics in both main and satellite locations.
  • Collaborate with dietitians, surgeons, psychologists, hepatologists, primary care providers, and allied health professionals.
  • Engage in education—mentoring pediatric residents.
  • Provide on-call coverage 13 for emergencies, including foreign body ingestion, GI bleeding, and liver crises.
Required
  • MD or DO with completion of an accredited Pediatric Gastroenterology fellowship.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Pediatrics.
  • Board Certification or Eligibility by the ABIM in Gastroenterology.
  • Eligible for/holds an active Florida medical license.
  • Proficient in pediatric endoscopy and procedural care.
Preferred
  • Experience with IBD, hepatology, nutritional rehab/motility preferred.

The ideal candidate will manage complex GI, hepatobiliary, and nutritional disorders in children—from infancy through adolescence—across inpatient, outpatient, and procedural settings.

The qualifications and details of the position include
