This full-time attending psychiatrist position involves leading a multi-disciplinary team on the inpatient psychiatric unit at TMC BHAC. The role includes providing psychiatric services, occasional supplemental coverage on inpatient and consultation liaison services, and potential collaboration with psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners. The psychiatrist will also participate in call duties, hospital committees, and educational lectures.
Key Responsibilities
- • Lead a multi-disciplinary team including psychiatry residents, medical students, psychologists, nurses, recreational therapists, and medical social workers
- • Provide psychiatric services mainly at TMC BHAC inpatient psychiatric unit
- • Provide occasional supplemental coverage on TMC BHAC and/or TMC Consultation Liaison Service when staff is on vacation
- • Act as primary collaborating physician with psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners and receive an additional stipend
- • Opportunity to rotate as primary TMC Consultation Liaison attending for the teaching service
- • Provide care at NKC BHAC in a hospitalist/non-teaching role if desired
- • Participate in the call system approximately 1 weekend per month, 2 out of every three months for additional pay
- • Participate in hospital-based committees
- • Provide lectures to other medical specialties
Required

Job Description
University Health Physicians and University Health is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to join our medical staff and to provide psychiatric services mainly at our TMC BHAC (inpatient psychiatric unit).
This position is a full-time attending psychiatrist who will lead a multi-disciplinary team that includes psychiatry residents, medical students, psychologists, nurses, recreational therapists and medical social workers. Other duties may include providing occasional supplemental coverage on TMC BHAC and/or TMC Consultation Liaison Service (CL) when staff is on vacation, as they will provide coverage during this position’s PTO. There also may be opportunity to act as primary collaborating physician with one or more of our psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners (PMNHP/APRN) and receive an additional stipend. If desired, there may be the opportunity to rotate as primary TMC CL attending for that teaching service, and to provide care at NKC BHAC in more of a hospitalist/non-teaching role.
The hire would be expected to participate in our call system, which is approximately about 1 weekend per month, 2 out of every three months for additional pay.
Participation in hospital-based committees and providing lectures to other medical specialties is encouraged.
The qualified candidate will have graduated from an accredited medical school, completing a residency in psychiatry.
