Practices medicine within the scope of authority and privileges granted by Moffitt Cancer Center. Key Responsibilities
- • Diagnose and treat patients with endocrine tumors, including thyroid cancer, adrenal tumors, pituitary tumors, and functional neuroendocrine tumors.
- • Prescribe chemotherapy, specifically oral multi-targeted and targeted kinase inhibitors, immunotherapy, and other chemotherapeutics for endocrine malignancies.
- • Dedicate at least 50% of clinical effort to management of patients requiring chemotherapy treatment.
- • Provide patient care as a member of the Moffitt Medical Group.
- • Serve as a member of the academic medical enterprise, planning the clinical and research enterprise in support of patient care, research, and education.
- • Support the institutional mission to contribute to the prevention and cure of cancer.
- • Allocate effort between clinical, research, educational, and administrative activities as directed by the Department Chair and Endocrine Program Leader.

- • MD or Equivalent
- • Board certified (or eligible) in Endocrinology
- • Requires successful completion of an approved Fellowship in Endocrine Oncology
- • Florida Medical License
- • DEA License
- • ACLS as required by privileges granted through Medical Staff

Endocrine Oncologists are trained to diagnose and treat patients with Endocrine tumors, including thyroid cancer, adrenal tumors, pituitary tumors and functional neuroendocrine tumors. An Endocrine Oncologist will have initial training in Internal Medicine, with subspecialty (Fellowship) training in either Endocrinology or Medical Oncology, followed by at least one year of further training in an Endocrine Oncology Fellowship. This additional training shall include training and experience in chemotherapy prescribing, specifically of oral multi-targeted and targeted kinaseinhibiitors, immunotherapy and other chemotherapeutics for Endocrine malignancies. At least 50% of the physician’s clinical effort is dedicated to management of patients requiring this treatment.
As a member of the Moffitt Medical Group, provides patient care and serves as a member of the academic medical enterprise, planning the clinical and research enterprise in support of patient care, research, and education. Actively supports the institutional mission to contribute to the prevention and cure of cancer.
The Department Chair, supported by the Endocrine Program Leader, will allocate the position's effort between clinical, research, educational, and administrative activities.
Qualifications
Education/Licensure:
- MD or Equivalent
- Board certified (or eligible) in Endocrinology
- Requires successful completion of an approved Fellowship in Endocrine Oncology
- Florida Medical License
- DEA License
- ACLS as required by privileges granted through Medical Staff
