Physician - Family Medicine

This role involves providing full-scope Family Medicine care in a 100% outpatient setting, including newborn care. The provider will work in a collegial, multi-specialty practice with flexible scheduling, sharing call responsibilities with the Family Medicine group, and utilizing the EPIC EMR system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
  • Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
  • Accepts patient referrals from other physicians.
  • Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
  • Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.
  • Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
  • Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.
Required
  • Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
Preferred
  • Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.

Opportunity

  • Join an established multi-speciality practice located in Wauwatosa, WI
  • Very collegial group of providers who are team-oriented and experienced with opportunity for mentorship
  • Opportunity is 100% outpatient
  • Call is shared with Family Medicine group - 1:12
    • Provider covers self M-Th evening in addition to after hours triage Nurse line
  • Clinic hours are from 7:30 am - 5:00 pm with the exception of Tuesday and Friday when the clinic is open at 7am
    • No weekends/holidays
    • Very flexible schedule requiring only 2 hours of extended time per week either before 8am or after 5pm.
    • Provide 36 patient contact hours ~ 18-20 patients per day
  • Full range of Family Medicine including newborns

  • Family practice located on 2nd floor, including many specialties making this location a one-stop shopping center
  • Outpatient specialty providers on campus include: Endocrinology, Cardiology, Neurology, Pulmonology, GI, OB-Gyn, Behavioral Health, General Surgery, Rheumatology, Urology, Vein Center, Dietary, Podiatry, Pain Management, Nephrology
  • Outpatient lab and imaging services on site
  • 2 exam rooms per provider
  • EHR: EPIC

  • All Physicians are supported by 1 MA
