Vice President Chief Medical Officer - Lancaster Med Hosp

This position will oversee the medical staff development at a designated hospital within the health system and acts as a liaison between the Medical Staff and Administration. The role supports the achievement of superior quality and safety, service excellence, provider staff engagement, care value optimization, and guides the delivery of care for the communities served.

Required
  • M.D. or D.O. required.
  • Ten (10) years of relevant experience required.
  • Seven (7) years of experience in medical leadership roles, including previous medical directorships, medical executive committee participation, and/or other equivalent medical leadership roles required.
  • Pennsylvania Medical Board License required.
  • Board certified in area of clinical practice and clinically active required.
Preferred
  • Master’s degree preferred either completed or in progress prior to hire.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

This position will oversee the medical staff development at designated hospital within the health system and reports directly to the Hospital President and indirectly to the Penn State Health Chief Medical Officer. This role acts as a liaison between the Medical Staff and Administration and supports the achievement of the mission and goals of Penn State Health by ensuring superior quality and safety, demonstrating superior service to patients and colleagues, attracting, developing, and retaining an engaged and talented provider staff, optimizing the value of care provided, and guiding and influencing the direction of the delivery of care for the communities served by Penn State Health.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • M.D. or D.O. required.
  • Ten (10) years of relevant experience required.
  • Seven (7) years of experience in medical leadership roles, including previous medical directorships, medical executive committee participation, and/or other equivalent medical leadership roles required.
  • Pennsylvania Medical Board License required.
  • Board certified in area of clinical practice and clinically active required.
