Manage the clinical problems of acutely ill, hospitalized patients by providing excellent patient care, performing physical exams, updating patient records, and studying medical histories. Provide diagnostic, preventative, and therapeutic health services, evaluate and treat patients as the primary attending physician, and coordinate hospital diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultative resources.

Required
- • MD degree in internal medicine
- • Completion of 3 years of residency training in internal medicine
- • Must be eligible for South Carolina medical license
- • Eligible for Board Certification in internal medicine
- • Foreign educational equivalency acceptable

Job Description
Hospitalist - MUSC Health - Florence, South Carolina Responsibilities include: Managing the clinical problems of acutely ill, hospitalized patients; providing excellent patient care, performing physical exams, updating patient records and studying medical histories; Providing diagnostic, preventative and therapeutic health services to patients and family members in the hospital; Evaluating and treating patients in consultation as the primary attending physician; Coordinating the hospital’s diagnostic, therapeutic and consultative resources; Following through on cases to ensure effectiveness and alter the course of treatment as indicated; Reviewing and interpreting medical test results; Responding to questions and concerns from patients about their health; Discussing proper nutrition and self-care with patients to promote good health; Working with various medical staff (surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists) to provide patient care. Minimum requirements: MD degree in internal medicine and completion of 3 years of residency training in internal medicine. Must be eligible for South Carolina medical license and eligible for Board Certification in internal medicine. Foreign educational equivalency acceptable. Hours: 7am to 7pm, 7 days on/7 days off.
