Advantage Health Centers
Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, provides professional medical services in a community health center setting. Responsibilities include performing physical exams, interpreting test results, implementing treatment plans, and providing comprehensive health maintenance and medical care to patients of all ages.
Key Responsibilities
- • Performs physical examinations of new and existing patients and determines x-ray examinations and clinical laboratory tests required.
- • Interprets examination findings and test results, and implements treatment plans.
- • Prepares and reviews case histories and obtains data through interviews.
- • Provides comprehensive health maintenance and medical care to the entire family unit, including preventive medicine, behavioral sciences, and community health.
- • Collaborates with other providers of Health Center patient’s outpatient and inpatient care and services.
- • Participates in on-site clinical procedures according to training and demonstrated ability.
- • Determines need for consultation and assists in medical care treatment provided at the direction of other specialists.
- • Instructs other health care providers and non-medical personnel in a variety of health related topics, including first-aid measures, basic and advanced cardiac life support, and health care maintenance.
Required
- • Graduation from a college or university by the American Medical Association with a Doctor of Medicine degree or accredited by the American Osteopathic Association with Doctor of Osteopathy degree.
- • If medical education occurred at a foreign medical school, the applicant must possess as a current Educational Foreign Medical Graduate (FCFMG) Certificate.
- • Successful completion of an approved program of residency training in the specialties of family practice or internal medicine.
- • Board Certification in specialty of Family Medicine
- • State of Michigan Medical licensure
- • Current DEA registration and Controlled Substances licensure
- • Basic Life Support (BLS) (or within 3 months of hire)
Preferred
- • Understanding of Federally Qualified Healthcare Center (FQHC) processes and operations (preferred).

OVERVIEW:

- Basic understanding of health clinic processes and operations. Understanding of Federally Qualified Healthcare Center (FQHC) processes and operations (preferred).
- Basic computer knowledge and skills, utilization of hardware and software.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Education:
