Position Summary

The Medical College of Wisconsin Eye Institute invites applications for a position at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. A strategic focus of the Eye Institute is to build upon an already strong group of investigators by recruiting at least two new faculty members to the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. MCW has an open position for Research Director in addition to at least one position for additional investigators. The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences intends to offer a generous start-up package to the successful applicant, with salary level based on experience. This position is located in Milwaukee, WI in our Eye Institute.

Department/Division Highlights

The eye and vision research group on campus consists of 6 faculty members with research in the biochemistry, biophysics, genetics, and cell and molecular biology of the retina and anterior segment. In addition, The Eye Institute collaborates closely with nearby vision science researchers at nearby institutes including Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin system, with whom several faculty appointments overlap. The Eye Institute benefits from on-campus core facilities including transgenic animal facilities, transcriptomic and proteomic analysis facilities, etc. The vision research group is highly interactive and collaborative, and supported by a Training Grant from the NEI. Basic and applied science faculty coordinate with the Eye Institute’s Director of Research and have ready access to the clinical faculty members for collaboration.
