Family Medicine Physician

Provide professional, quality medical care to patients including independent judgement in treatment, ordering diagnostic tests, prescribing pharmaceuticals, and counseling patients and families. Document medical care accurately and refer patients to specialists to ensure multidisciplinary care. Adhere to medical ethics and maintain proper coding for insurance billing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional, quality medical care to patients
  • Exercise independent professional judgement in the care and treatment of patients
  • Order and prescribe medical treatment, diagnostic testing, ancillary team, and other health/medical services
  • Prescribe medically appropriate pharmaceuticals
  • Consult and counsel patients and families
  • Provide health and medical education to patients and families
  • Refer patients as needed to appropriate medical specialists and other healthcare professionals to assure multidisciplinary care is provided
  • Document medical and clinical care in the patient's medical record Assign the appropriate diagnosis and procedural codes to permit third party insurance billing
  • Adhere to the principles of medical ethics
Required
  • Graduation from an accredited MD or DO program
  • NC State License required, or ability to obtain
  • Graduation from an accredited school of medicine
  • DEA;BLS;MD/DO
  • Licensed as a Physician in the state of North Carolina
  • Primary care experience
  • Morehead City, NC: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Position Specifics:

  • Full Time
  • Clinic Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
  • Physician led organization

Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional, quality medical care to patients
