The Anesthesiologist will practice general anesthesiology including neuro, OB, thoracic, and regional anesthesia, excluding cardiac or pediatric cases. The role includes a teaching faculty appointment with Baylor College of Medicine, offering academic opportunities with medical students, residents, and fellows, and involves working within a large established anesthesia team in a mixed care model.
Key Responsibilities
- • Practice general anesthesiology, to include neuro, OB, thoracic, and regional anesthesia.
- • Participate in teaching faculty activities with Baylor College of Medicine.
- • Engage with medical students, residents, and fellows in academic opportunities.
- • Work within a large established team of anesthesiologists and CRNAs, along with nursing, anesthesia tech and admin support in a mixed anesthesia care team/solo staffing model.
- • Work Monday-Friday with weekend and evening call rotated equally among the group.
- • Perform approximately 1 weekday call shift per month, with pre and post call days off.
- • Perform 1-2 weekend call shifts (12 hours) per month, with premium pay.
- • Take advantage of additional earnings opportunities for working after hours and weekends.
Required
- • Doctorate Degree in Medicine
- • Licensed to Practice Medicine in the state of Texas by the Texas Medical Board
- • Where Applicable- Employee shall be currently board certified in his or her specialty or demonstrate active pursuit of board certification as defined by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties or the Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists
