DAP Health
The HIV Credentialed Physician provides comprehensive primary health services focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of HIV/AIDS. The role includes patient consultation, ordering tests, prescribing treatments, and maintaining high-quality medical care within the scope of primary care.
Key Responsibilities
- • Provide comprehensive primary health services to DAP Health Medical Clinic patients, with and without HIV, in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the disease
- • Act as a primary healthcare clinician within the scope of their primary care to include preventative care, immunizations, health education, prescribing of medications, ordering and interpreting lab testing, physical examinations and nutrition
- • Refers patients to specialists as necessary
- • Timely documentation of all patient care activities in Epic (EHR system)
- • Maintain high quality medical care for our patients by committing to our quality metrics and workflows
- • Monitor DAP Health HIV medical clinic patients and provides medical examinations and referrals as needed
- • Order or execute various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on the patient's condition
- • Administer and prescribe treatments
- • Participate in weekly clinician meetings
- • Participate in community forums/medical education programs
- • Maintain EHR documentation of all services rendered, including examination, treatment and referrals
- • Access patient-protected health information as needed
- • Maintain working relationships with all DAP Health medical clinic staff to ensure continuity of care to all patients
- • Demonstrate superior mentoring and supervisory skills that engender strong clinical leadership.
- • Perform other duties as assigned
Required
- • Knowledge and experience in the care and treatment of conditions associated with HIV/AIDS through either HIV Specialist certification from the American Academy of HIV Medicine or an Infectious disease fellowship
- • Excellent clinical skills
- • Desire and ability to teach
- • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree (MD/DO)
- • Knowledge and experience in the care and treatment of diseases associated with HIV/AIDS; HIV Specialist certification through the American Academy of HIV Medicine required upon hire
- • 3 years of direct experience of providing HIV care
- • Must possess Federal DEA License
- • Licensed Medical Doctor in the state of California
- • Board Certification in a Primary Care discipline
- • Current BLS certification obtained through the American Heart Association, American Red Cross or the American Safety and Health Institute

Job Summary
Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), the HIV Credentialed Physician works closely with those patients affected by HIV/AIDS, as well as provides preventative care and consultation for family and internal medicine. They utilize their skills while consulting with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment; and recommends and orders tests to determine extent of illness or to help diagnose condition.
