Academic Surgical Pathologist (GI/Liver/Pancreas) – Assistant Professor

This faculty position involves clinical sign-out responsibilities within the GI/Hepatobiliary/Pancreas subspecialty, with opportunities to develop specialized expertise and engage in clinical and translational research. The Department of Pathology and Genomic Medicine of the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University is recruiting for board certified, full-time faculty member at the Assistant/Associate Professor level with subspecialty fellowship training in Gastrointestinal, Liver and Pancreas Pathology, in the Clinical Scholar track or Clinical Educator track, commensurate with training, experience, and academic record.

Job Description

The position includes clinical sign-out responsibilities within the GI/Hepatobiliary/Pancreas subspecialty. Additional training or interest in soft tissue, thoracic, GU or ENT pathology is desirable but not required. The Department supports an ACGME-accredited residency program as well as multiple subspecialty fellowships. Eligibility for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is required.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in patient care, academic scholarship, and medical education. The appointee will join the teaching faculty of Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, with time allocated for intradepartmental and interdepartmental clinical and/or translational research. Development of specialized expertise is strongly encouraged. Faculty responsibilities also include participation in resident education, clinical conferences, and teaching activities for clinical GI, liver, and transplant fellows.
