This role involves providing medical oversight and support in a clinical research setting, including reviewing patient eligibility, performing assessments, and monitoring safety variables in clinical trials. The physician will work collaboratively with a research team to ensure compliance with study protocols and contribute to advancing clinical research in various therapeutic areas.
Key Responsibilities
- • Responsibly and ethically provide medical oversight to the research team and research patients
- • Review patient eligibility for clinical trials
- • Meet with patients during designated study visits to perform assessments, including physical examinations and data collection
- • Review and interpret laboratory results, EKGs and other diagnostic and safety assessments as required per study protocol
- • Monitor safety variables, including adverse events, laboratory abnormalities, changes in patient medical status, etc.
- • Use proper medical judgment
- • Ensure accurate documentation
- • Review and discuss any medical or protocol-related concerns with medical team
- • Maintain compliance with GCP and all assigned trainings
- • Attend study-related meetings (occasional travel to exciting cities!)
- • Work with other physicians, nurses, and key study personnel in overseeing the execution of study protocols
- • Other duties as assigned
Required
- • Board-Certified, Board-Eligible, or Resident-level Physician
- • Current UNRESTRICTED FL medical license and geographic location highly desired
- • Open to candidates who have an out-of-state unrestricted medical license and are willing to and able to obtain licensure to practice in FL
- • Broad knowledge of general medicine
- • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, efficient, and able to multi-task and prioritize effectively
- • Excellent interpersonal skills
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
- • Preference given to those with prior Military Service
- • Desired BE/BC in certain specialties (Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Psychiatry)

K2 is seeking a Physician to support our clinic in The Villages, FL. This dynamic person will support in an onsite and part-time capacity and can be a Board-Certified, Board-Eligible, or Resident-level Physician who is interested in learning and working in clinical research. No experience necessary and training will be provided.
With leadership that has been in clinical research for the past 20+ years, K2 has a strong reputation in the drug development industry. Our clinical trials experience/therapeutic areas include neurodegenerative disorders (Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, LBD), general medicine (Obesity, GLP-1 use, OA, HTN, DM, NASH/MASH and cardiometabolic) and some psychiatry as well. We have taken part in clinical trials for all current FDA-approved therapies that slow the progression of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and most diagnostics (PET tracers, CSF and blood biomarkers) for the diagnosis of AD. Additionally, we are actively testing multiple therapeutics in the pioneering field of AD prevention. This is an exciting field of clinical practice with unlimited opportunities to practice your best medicine.
