Physician - Orthopedic Surgeon- Spine

The Orthopedic Spine Surgeon will provide comprehensive surgical and non-surgical care for patients with spinal disorders, utilizing evidence-based practices and advanced technologies. The role includes active participation in education and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as engagement in scholarly activity, clinical research, and quality improvement initiatives aligned with the academic mission.

Physician - Orthopedic Surgeon- Spine

The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Orthopedic Surgery, is seeking an Orthopedic Spine Surgeon to join its expanding academic team in support of the department’s mission to deliver the highest quality, patient-centered care while fulfilling teaching, research, and academic responsibilities at the region’s quaternary referral center.

The department is nationally recognized and ranked among the Top 50 Orthopedic Programs in the United States by U.S. News & World Report for 2025–2026. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a growing Surgical Spine service line that manages a high-volume, diverse case mix ranging from routine spinal conditions to highly complex deformity, trauma, and revision cases.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in providing comprehensive surgical and non-surgical care for patients with spinal disorders, utilizing evidence-based practices and advanced technologies. In addition to clinical excellence, the physician will be expected to actively participate in the education and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows, and to engage in scholarly activity, clinical research, and quality improvement initiatives aligned with the academic mission of the institution.

Candidates with an interest in optimizing site-of-service surgical planning, improving access to care, and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams are strongly preferred.
