Medical Director (Attending Physician) Full Time - New Haven, CT

The Medical Director is a licensed physician responsible for organizing and overseeing the medical component of a Skilled Nursing Facility. This role provides clinical leadership to ensure high quality, patient-centered care in compliance with regulations, collaborating with leadership and interdisciplinary teams to promote clinical excellence and continuous quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Available for consultation 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and arranges coverage when not available.
  • Certify that the patients meet the medical criteria for overall care based upon available diagnostic and prognostic indicators, review of medical records, and nursing reports.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure that the medical needs of the patient are met and provide evidence-based initiatives for individual diagnosis, treatments, and plans of care.
  • Review clinical outcomes, adverse events and infection control programs and Oversee Quality Assurance and QAPI.
  • Flexible schedule for administrative duties.
  • Maintain on-site presence and be available for consultation when clinically necessary.
Required
  • MD or DO from accredited medical school.
  • Active, unrestricted medical license
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatrics Preferred).
  • Have current state and federal registrations to prescribe and administer drugs, including controlled substances.
  • The Medical Director has the required licensure, education, training and qualifications required by rule, regulation, law and/or statute to qualify for the role in their state.
  • Eligible to participate in the Medicare and Medicaid programs.
  • Provides comprehensive medical direction to Facility.
  • Knowledge of long-term care regulations and standards

Medical Director (Attending Physician) in the New Haven, CT area!

 

Medical Director who is a licensed physician (a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy) that organizes and assumes overall responsibility for the medical component of Skilled Nursing Facility setting.

Provide clinical leadership to ensure high quality patient centered care in compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations.  Partners with leadership, attending physicians and interdisciplinary team to promote overall clinical excellence with continuous quality improvement.

 

Responsibilities:

Available for consultation 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and arranges coverage when not available.

 

This role is for Physicians who desire attending and or Medical Directorship with in Skilled Nursing Facilities. 

 

Certify that the patients meet the medical criteria for overall care based
upon available diagnostic and prognostic indicators, review of medical records,
and nursing reports.

Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure that the medical needs of
the patient are met and provide evidence-based initiatives for individual diagnosis, treatments, and plans of care.
