Cardiothoracic Surgeon - Houston Methodist Sugarland
The Cardiothoracic Surgeon will provide comprehensive surgical care for heart and thoracic diseases, performing a wide range of procedures including CABG, valve repair/replacement, and thoracic surgeries. The role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary specialists, participation in clinical protocol development, patient education, and mentorship of residents and medical students.
Key Responsibilities
- • Perform a wide range of cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve repair/replacement, and thoracic surgeries.
- • Collaborate with cardiologists, pulmonologists, and other specialists to deliver coordinated, high-quality care.
- • Participate in the development of clinical protocols, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety programs.
- • Engage in patient education, ensuring clear communication about procedures, risks, and post-operative care.
- • Contribute to the education and mentorship of residents and medical students, if applicable.
- • Maintain an active role in community outreach and promoting Houston Methodist’s mission of unparalleled patient care.
Required
- • Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited institution.
- • Board certification or board eligibility in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- • Valid Texas medical license (or eligibility to obtain one).
- • 3-5 years of post-fellowship experience in cardiothoracic surgery.
- • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred
- • Proven expertise in advanced surgical techniques and minimally invasive approaches is preferred.
