Physician - Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon

This role involves conducting thorough patient assessments and diagnoses for spinal disorders, performing minimally invasive spine procedures and advanced surgical techniques, and managing postoperative care. The position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and active participation in research, education, and administrative duties to ensure high-quality musculoskeletal healthcare delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history reviews and physical examinations.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools such as MRI, CT scans, X-rays, and other imaging modalities to identify spinal disorders.
  • Develop and discuss appropriate treatment plans with patients, including surgical and non-surgical options.
  • Perform minimally invasive spine procedures such as epidural steroid injections, facet joint injections, radiofrequency ablations, and spinal cord stimulator placements.
  • Conduct advanced surgical techniques, including decompressions, fusions, and disc replacements.
  • Ensure the use of sterile techniques and adherence to best practices in the operating room.
  • Monitor patients' recovery and manage postoperative complications.
  • Provide comprehensive postoperative care instructions and coordinate follow-up appointments.
  • Collaborate with physical therapists and other healthcare providers to optimize patient recovery.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including neurologists, pain management specialists, physical therapists, and radiologists.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment options, and recovery plans.
  • Participate in case discussions, medical rounds, and team meetings.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in spinal surgery and interventional techniques.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to research activities.
  • Educate medical students, residents, and fellows through lectures and hands-on training.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, medical regulations, and quality standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical protocols.
Required
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • Completion of an accredited residency program in Orthopedic Surgery or Neurosurgery
  • Board certification in Orthopedic Surgery, Neurosurgery, or Pain Management.
  • Valid medical license to practice in [Insert Location].
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Proven experience in performing interventional spine procedures and surgeries.
