Physician (Tiered Sign-On Bonus up to $5,000)

The Physician provides health care to patients at Wake County Health and Human Services Clinics, primarily based at the Departure Drive Regional Center with occasional coverage at other clinical sites. The role involves screening, diagnosing, treating patients, providing preventive and acute care, supporting mental health teams, performing outpatient procedures, and supervising Advanced Practice Practitioners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen, diagnose and treat patients
  • Document all care in Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Provide preventive care, child health, family planning care, prenatal care, STD care, and acute illness management
  • Provide support services to the mental health teams as needed for continuity of client care
  • Perform clinic-based outpatient procedures as indicated (this generally includes PAP smears, Nexplanon insertion/removal, suture removal, possible I&D's)
  • Supervise Advanced Practice Practitioners NC Medical and Nursing Board guidelines
  • Provide backup call to the nurse triage line on a rotating basis with other providers (physician does not provide in person care after clinic hours)
Required
  • Doctorate in Medicine
  • Three years of experience and must have completed appropriate residency
  • NC Medical Board licensure
  • Medical license/certification in specialist field
  • DEA registration
  • Hospital credentialing or eligibility
  • Equivalent education and experience are NOT accepted

  • Completion of an accredited Family Practice Residency program and Board Certification in North Carolina
  • Medical license/certification in specialist feild

What You'll Be Doing

The Physician provides health care to patients in the Wake County Health and Human Services Clinics. This will include Regional Centers and the Public Health Center in Raleigh. This position is based primarily at the Departure Drive Regional Center but may involve, from time to time, as-needed coverage at other Wake County clinical sites. The physician reports to the clinical supervisor and medical director.

Responsibilities And Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Screen, diagnose and treat patients
  • Document all care in Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Provide preventive care, child health, family planning care, prenatal care, STD care, and acute illness management
  • Provide support services to the mental health teams as needed for continuity of client care
  • Perform clinic-based outpatient procedures as indicated (this generally includes PAP smears, Nexplanon insertion/removal, suture removal, possible I&D's)

On call duties: Provide backup call to the nurse triage line on a rotating basis with other providers. Physician does not provide in person care after clinic hours.

Required

  • Doctorate in Medicine
