This role leads market access, medical affairs, and payer relationships related to coverage policy, coding, and reimbursement strategy for Labcorp Diagnostics in the US. The position provides medical strategy for clinical utility studies and chairs a multidisciplinary committee to determine assay launches and reimbursement evidence. It also involves leadership in appeals, coding, reimbursement, and collaboration with payers and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- • This role is the quarterback of all market access, medical affairs, payer relationships around coverage policy, coding and reimbursement strategy for the Labcorp Diagnostics business in the US.
- • This leader provides medical strategy for planning, designing, and conducting clinical utility studies that will be necessary to demonstrate clinical effectiveness of new laboratory assays.
- • This position chairs the Payor Policy Collaboration Committee, a multidisciplinary enterprise committee of leaders that help determine which new assays to launch and the evidence necessary for appropriate reimbursement.
- • Provide medical ethical input on assay design, intended use, and marketing claims for clinical use.
- • Serve as an integral member on all Business Advisory Teams (BATs) and the company Reimbursement Advisory Teams.
- • Provides leadership and strategic direction to the Clinical Utility team on study design and publication.
- • Works directly with the Payor Solutions, Market Access Team, Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team and is responsible for appeals letters.
- • Provides leadership and assistance to Corporate Coding and Reimbursement (CCR).
- • Medical Director for Appeals Letters.
- • Leads Labcorp’s relationship with Medicare, the MACs, and Medicaid issues.
- • Assists the Labcorp Venture Fund by providing timely reviews of the science and clinical utility.
- • Assists with mergers and acquisitions.
- • Advise the Labcorp Research & Development scientists in developing assays that are most likely to demonstrate clinical utility.
- • Represent Labcorp at the American Clinical Laboratory Association and other industry venues.
Required
- • Medical license in a US state.
- • Board eligible or Board certification in a relevant medical specialty.
- • 10 or more years of experience in medical coding, reimbursement, coverage policy development, clinical guidelines, managed care administration, revenue cycle management or similar work experience.
Preferred
- • Board eligible or Board certification in a relevant medical specialty with Pathology preferred.

- Management of a team of professionals may be required
- Travel: up to 20 % travel required to MolDx and other Medicare MACs, CMS, AMA, and health plans for clinical discussion of coverage policy
Pay Range
All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
Additional Compensation: The position is also eligible for an annual bonus under the Labcorp Bonus Plan. Bonuses are payable based on corporate and/or business segment performance and are subject to individual performance modifiers. Compensation may also include discretionary short- and long-term incentive packages.

Casual, PRN & Part Time employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours are eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan only.
