This role involves providing and managing direct patient care including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for a specified patient population. The physician will work collaboratively with healthcare team members and participate in health promotion, education, prevention programs, and quality assurance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- • Working collaboratively with members of the healthcare team including pharmacists, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff.
- • Reviews incoming reports (e.g. lab, x-ray, EKG) and follow up in a timely manner.
- • Prescribing pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
- • Refer patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
- • May manage the daily operations of a specific medical program or patient care unit
- • Directing and coordinating the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
- • Following established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
- • As appropriate to the position, participating in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs.
- • Participating in peer review, quality assurance, provider meetings, and other clinical and operational meetings as requested
- • Assisting in updating protocols and principles of practice, as requested.
Required
- • Licensed to practice medicine in accordance with Chapter 458, Florida Statutes
- • Four years of appropriate experience
- • Completion of a residency program may substitute for the required experience
Preferred
- • Specialty License or Certification
- • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty
- • Certification/Licensure in the state of Florida
- • Federal DEA Certification

UF Health Central Florida is currently seeking multiple full-time Primary Care Physicians. These physicians will provide and manage direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for a specified patient population.
Duties
This Physician provides a full scope of clinical patient care and services that fall under the field of training including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventative care, and health maintenance to patients at UF Health Regional Network clinical sites. Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Working collaboratively with members of the healthcare team including pharmacists, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff.

Commensurate with experience and education
Minimum Requirements
Licensed to practice medicine in accordance with Chapter 458, Florida Statutes* plus four years of appropriate experience. Completion of a residency program may substitute for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Specialty License or Certification; Board Certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty; Certification/Licensure in the state of Florida and Federal DEA Certification.
