The Physician Hospitalist provides comprehensive inpatient care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care throughout hospitalization. The role includes shift-based work with strong clinical support and opportunities for involvement in quality improvement, education, and program development.
Key Responsibilities
- • Provide direct inpatient medical care, including admissions, daily rounding, and discharge planning
- • Manage acute and chronic medical conditions for hospitalized patients
- • Coordinate care with consulting specialists, nursing, case management, and ancillary services
- • Ensure timely, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds to optimize patient outcomes and length of stay
- • Respond to rapid responses/codes as assigned by the department
- • Support patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice initiatives
- • Participate in teaching and mentoring of residents, medical students, or advanced practice providers, as applicable
- • Comply with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and regulatory requirements
Required
- • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency
- • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- • Eligibility for state medical licensure
- • DEA license (or ability to obtain)
- • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
Preferred
- • Prior hospitalist or inpatient medicine experience
- • Experience working in a team-based, high-acuity inpatient setting
- • Interest in quality improvement, education, or leadership initiatives

The Hospitalist Physician works on a shift-based schedule and does not accrue PTO or CME days. Job Duties
