The Clinical AI Specialist ensures the safety and effectiveness of AI models within clinical workflows by collaborating with technology teams to manage clinical content and performing rigorous quality assurance on AI outputs. The role involves analyzing clinical processes to identify opportunities for AI interventions that improve provider efficiency and patient outcomes, as well as developing automated AI QA tools and delivering data-driven insights in partnership with Clinical Leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- • Work closely with technology teams to create, review, and update documents that power our AI models, with a specific focus on clinical content
- • Perform quality assurance on the output of AI models to ensure the clinical reasoning is accurate and safe
- • Review and analyze the existing clinical workflow to identify and propose places where AI interventions will improve provider efficiency or enhance patient outcomes
- • Perform chart reviews, and use insights to develop AI QA tools to automate clinical chart review processes
- • Collaborate with clinical leadership to understand clinical protocols, processes, and pain points
- • Leverage analytics to deliver and communicate actionable insights around AI efficiency and outcomes
Required
- • Clinical degree (e.g., MD, DO, RN, PA, NP, or PharmD) or a strong equivalent background in a healthcare-related field
- • 5+ years of experience working in a clinical setting, understanding established clinical protocols, processes, and pain points
- • Experience performing clinical chart reviews and a deep understanding of patient care workflows
- • Knowledge of clinical safety and regulatory requirements in healthcare
- • Familiarity with the principles of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and large language models (LLMs)
- • Demonstrated experience in clinical workflow analysis and process improvement
- • Proficiency with data analysis tools and methods to leverage analytics for developing actionable insights and evaluating AI efficiency and outcomes
- • Experience with Quality Assurance (QA) methodologies, specifically as applied to clinical reasoning and data accuracy

About the role
The Clinical AI Specialist is a crucial role focused on ensuring the safety and effectiveness of AI models within the clinical workflow. This involves collaborating closely with technology teams to manage the clinical content that powers the AI, performing rigorous Quality Assurance (QA) on model output to guarantee accurate and safe clinical reasoning, and proactively reviewing existing clinical processes to identify opportunities where AI interventions can boost provider efficiency or enhance patient outcomes. The AI Specialist will utilize chart reviews and analytics to develop automated AI QA tools and deliver data-driven insights on the efficiency and impact of AI, all while working with Clinical Leadership to align AI initiatives with established protocols and address pain points.
