The role involves leading a high impact independent research program focused on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and/or celiac disease, developing the scientific vision and strategy for the Stanford Medicine Children's Health Center for IBD & Celiac Disease, and serving as Scientific Director. The candidate will engage in interdisciplinary research, obtain substantial extramural grant funding, and contribute to mentorship and teaching within pediatric gastroenterology.
Key Responsibilities
- • Lead a high impact independent research program with strong relevance to IBD and/or celiac disease
- • Develop the scientific vision and strategy for the Center with the Director
- • Obtain substantial extramural grant funding
- • Engage in interdisciplinary research
- • Grow the impact and footprint of pediatric IBD and celiac disease research at Stanford University
- • Serve as a member of the Pediatric, Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition Division with responsibilities for research and teaching in the fields of IBD and/or celiac disease
- • Collaborate with the clinical arm of the Center including pediatric gastroenterologists, physician scientists, allied health professionals, and data analysts
Required
- • Ph.D., MD./Ph.D., or MD degree
- • Established an innovative, high quality, independently funded research program
- • Strong record of mentorship and teaching
- • Evidence of high-level performance as a researcher
- • Experience with scientific programmatic leadership or evidence of leadership skills
- • Ability to obtain substantial extramural grant funding
- • Engagement in interdisciplinary research
Preferred
- • Board certified physician-scientist candidates have opportunities for clinical service activities
- • Joint or courtesy appointment in a secondary department may be considered for appropriately qualified candidates
