Primary Care/Internal Medicine LGBTQ Focus

Provide high quality, evidence based clinical care focusing on LGBTQ youth and adults. Precept medical students and house staff, promote clinical research, and collaborate to create provider trainings and policies for optimal LGBTQ patient health. Participate in administration and medical service group meetings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Ambulatory group to create provider trainings and policies that foster optimal health for LGBTQ patients

  • Facilitate the goals of SUNY Upstate Medical University
  • Participate in administration and medical service group meetings
Required
  • BC/BE in Internal Medicine/Pediatrics, Internal Medicine/Adolescent Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Experience with or willingness to learn HIV treatment and prevention
Preferred
  • Previous experience with general medicine patients in an academic healthcare setting preferred
Job Summary

Upstate Inclusive Health Services and Adolescent Medicine seek a primary care physician to provide high quality, evidence based clinical care with a focus on LGBTQ youth and adults. Experience with or willingness to learn HIV treatment and prevention is also required. Faculty will precept students in the College of Medicine and Graduate Studies and house staff in clinical settings, promote high quality clinical research, and work with the Ambulatory group to create provider trainings and policies that foster optimal health for LGBTQ patients. Faculty with consult and collaborate with colleagues, facilitate the goals of SUNY Upstate Medical University, and participate in administration and medical service group meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum qualification: BC/BE in Internal Medicine/Pediatrics, Internal Medicine/Adolescent Medicine or Family Medicine.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with general medicine patients in an academic healthcare setting preferred

Work Days

Monday through Friday daytime hours
