Maternal-Fetal Medicine Clinical Faculty (MFM) - Indianapolis, IN

Provide comprehensive Maternal–Fetal Medicine care including outpatient consultation, inpatient high-risk obstetrics, and ultrasound-based services. Perform procedures such as amniocentesis, CVS, PUBS, and obstetric surgical interventions while participating in a rotating 7-day service call schedule with weekend daytime in-house coverage and at-home night call. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and teach medical students, residents, and fellows in an academic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive MFM care, including outpatient consultation, inpatient high-risk obstetrics, and ultrasound-based services.
  • Perform procedures such as amniocentesis, CVS, PUBS, and obstetric surgical interventions.
  • Participate in a rotating 7-day service call schedule with weekend daytime in-house coverage and at-home night call.
  • Primary practice at Riley Maternity Tower; additional clinical time at IU North, Community Health Network, and Eskenazi Health.
  • Collaborate with 13 MFM physicians, APPs, and multidisciplinary specialty teams.
  • Teach and supervise medical students, residents, and fellows in a supportive academic environment.
  • Research opportunities available; fetal intervention program under development.
Required
  • MD/DO from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in OB/GYN.
  • Completion of a Maternal–Fetal Medicine fellowship.
  • Eligible for Indiana medical licensure.
  • Open to new graduates and experienced faculty.

Healthcare System/Hospital Description

IU Health and IU School of Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology physicians deliver at the Maternity Tower at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, IN. Opened in 2021, the tower has the accommodations to support traditional birth plans, and the experience of exceptionally and nationally ranked pediatric and adult specialists to care for high-risk pregnancies and babies with critical needs. The facility is designed so that pregnant patients and newborns have access to highly skilled care under the same roof. The Maternity Tower houses maternal fetal medicine specialists, midwifery services, an obstetrical intensive care unit (one of a handful in the nation), an obstetrical emergency unit and a level IV NICU.
