Physician - Podiatrist

The Podiatrist provides comprehensive foot and ankle care to patients of all ages, focusing on prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of conditions affecting the lower extremities. This role supports integrated care delivery and collaborates with primary care providers, specialists, and ancillary services to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and treat foot, ankle, and lower leg conditions including injuries, infections, deformities, and chronic diseases (e.g., diabetes-related complications).
  • Perform minor surgical procedures and wound care in-office or outpatient settings.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRIs, and lab work.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans including orthotics, physical therapy, medications, and referrals.
  • Educate patients on preventive foot care, especially those with chronic conditions.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in the EMR, ensuring compliance with coding and billing standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary case reviews.
  • Collaborate with primary care and specialty teams to coordinate care and reduce service leakage.
Required
  • Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) from an accredited program.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery.
  • Valid state medical license and DEA registration.
  • Strong communication and EMR documentation skills.
Preferred
  • Experience in outpatient clinical settings preferred.
  • Familiarity with HCC coding and risk adjustment documentation.
  • Experience working in integrated medical groups or value-based care models.
  • Ability to manage diabetic foot care and limb preservation strategies.
