Key Responsibilities
- • Active clinical practice in both outpatient and inpatient settings
- • Participation in the advancement and education of medical students, residents, and fellows
- • Maintain flexibility in division clinical duty scheduling
- • Participation in quality improvement activities
- • Participation in hospital and/or university committee work
- • Participation in academic research in the field of Infectious Diseases
- • Provide leadership for academic projects in education, quality and safety or division/departmental administration
- • Participate in didactic teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows
- • Attend and actively participate in seminars and other educational lectures
- • Participate in the supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows involved in direct patient care
- • Attend meetings, Grand Rounds, and other University scholarly activities
- • Work on weekends, nights and holidays based on the needs of the Division
- • Physically respond when on-call
Required
- • Awarded degree of MD/DO
- • Infectious Diseases fellowship
- • Valid American Board Certification in Internal Medicine
- • Valid and unrestricted Florida Medical License or eligible to apply
- • Board Certified/Board Eligible for Infectious Diseases

The University of Miami Health System is initiating a search for an Assistant Professor of Clinical, Infectious Diseases. The incumbent will have clinical and research responsibilities within the Department of Medicine. He/she will serve as an attending physician in the Division of Infectious Diseases, with focus on the care and treatment of adult patients with infectious diseases on medical and surgical services. This includes outpatient care, as well as inpatient attending responsibilities for the division (on inpatient units at UHealth and/or Jackson Memorial Hospital). He/she will be involved with medical student, resident, and fellow education. He/she may be asked to lead an educational or administrative project within the division or to participate in research programs within the division.
