Internal Medicine Physician

The Internal Medicine Physician will have ultimate responsibility for all medical aspects of the Clinic operations, providing initial and annual medical examinations, ongoing medical evaluation and treatment, either directly or through appropriate referral. The physician will collaborate closely with the Clinic Supervisor and counselors to assess patient progress and participate in staff meetings to achieve program goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Have the ultimate responsibility for the medical aspects of the Clinic.
  • Provide the initial and annual medical examination and on-going medical evaluation and treatment either directly or through appropriate referral as specified in the contract and the Program’s Procedure Manual.
  • Work closely with the Clinic Supervisor and counselors in assessing overall progress of patients.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings.
  • Encourage the joint effort of all staff for maximum effectiveness of the Clinic and achievement of Program goals.
  • Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.
Required
  • Must be currently licensed to practice medicine in the State of Connecticut.
Preferred
  • Specialty training and certification in internal medicine or psychiatry is desirable but not essential.
  • Some background, association or experience with problems of addiction and/or community medicine.
  • A sensitivity to, and understanding of, the general lifestyle, emotional and behavioral patterns often associated with narcotics addiction.

Internal Medicine Physician

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer and the President/CEO will have ultimate responsibility for all medical

aspects of the Clinic operations.

Salary Range

$150,000.00$230,000.00

Actual pay will be determined based on several factors. These may include education, work experience and in some instances, certifications. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues’ pay.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Must be currently licensed to practice medicine in the State of Connecticut. Specialty training and certification in internal

medicine or psychiatry is desirable but not essential. Also desirable is some background, association or experience with

problems of addiction and/or community medicine; a sensitivity to, and understanding of, the general lifestyle, emotional

and behavioral patterns often associated with narcotics addiction.

  • The Staff Physician will have the ultimate responsibility for the medical aspects of the Clinic. He/she will also

provide the initial and annual medical examination and on-going medical evaluation and treatment. This

responsibility will be met by the physician either through services rendered directly or through appropriate referral as

specified in the contract and the Program’s Procedure Manual.

  • The Staff Physician will work closely with the Clinic Supervisor and counselors in assessing overall progress of

patients, participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings, and encourage the joint effort of all staff for maximum

effectiveness of the Clinic and achievement of Program goals.
