This role involves applying clinical judgment and evidence-based medicine to conduct orthopedic clinical reviews, communicate with attending physicians, and provide subject matter expertise. The position supports medical review, quality oversight, and clinical consultation for government and private sector benefit programs.
Key Responsibilities
- • Apply clinical judgment and evidence-based medicine to render timely peer review decisions
- • Conduct orthopedic clinical reviews of medical conditions, procedures, and treatments
- • Communicate with attending physicians regarding potential decertification and related matters
- • Provide subject matter expertise to clinical reviewers, case managers, and consultants
- • Ensure clarity, quality, and defensibility in documentation and decision-making
Required
- • Active, current, unrestricted M.D. or D.O. license in the State of Washington
- • Board certification through the American Board of Medical Specialties
- • Orthopedic specialty expertise
- • Demonstrated ability to render independent clinical opinions
- • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comagine Health is seeking a board-certified Orthopedic physician licensed in Washington State to join our Medical Affairs team.
We currently have:
One on-call (PRN) opportunity
One 0.50 FTE position (with potential to increase to 1.0 FTE)
About the Team
Our Medical Affairs division includes 30 physicians and dentists, supported by a network of 35+ physician consultants. Together, we provide medical review, quality oversight, and clinical consultation for government and private sector benefit programs.
In partnership with our clients, we develop and implement evidence-based review criteria to ensure patients receive the right care at the right time.
What You’ll Do
Apply clinical judgment and evidence-based medicine to render timely peer review decisions
Conduct orthopedic clinical reviews of medical conditions, procedures, and treatments
Communicate with attending physicians regarding potential decertification and related matters
Provide subject matter expertise to clinical reviewers, case managers, and consultants
Ensure clarity, quality, and defensibility in documentation and decision-making
Required Qualifications
Active, current, unrestricted M.D. or D.O. license in the State of Washington
Board certification through the American Board of Medical Specialties
Orthopedic specialty expertise
Demonstrated ability to render independent clinical opinions
Proficiency with MS Office Suite
Strong written and verbal communication skills
