Legacy Care
The Medical Director will provide clinical and operational leadership for post-acute care services, influencing care delivery, mentoring clinical staff, and partnering with facility leadership to improve resident outcomes. The role involves overseeing quality and compliance, fostering multidisciplinary collaboration, and supporting initiatives that enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- • Provide strategic clinical leadership and vision for medical services across assigned facilities
- • Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in post-acute and long-term care settings
- • Collaborate with nursing and facility leadership to develop and implement clinical policies and protocols
- • Lead quality improvement activities, monitor clinical performance metrics and implement corrective action as needed
- • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards and best practice guidelines
- • Support multidisciplinary care planning, participate in case reviews and provide physician mentorship
- • Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for accurate documentation, reporting and continuity of care
- • Provide timely medical oversight for acute clinical changes and escalation decisions
Required
- • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- • Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or related specialty
- • Active, unrestricted Virginia medical license and current DEA registration
- • Excellent communication, leadership and organizational skills
- • Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and evidence-based practice
- • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record systems
Preferred
- • Proven clinical experience in post-acute, long-term care, geriatrics or a related field preferred
- • Previous leadership or medical director experience desirable
