The Surgical Oncologist will provide consultation and surgical care for patients with neoplastic and other diseases of the pancreas, liver, biliary tree, gastrointestinal tract, skin, and soft tissue. This role includes leading the Surgical Oncology Program, serving as Program Director of the Valley Advanced Surgical GI Fellowship, and participating as faculty in the General Surgery Residency Program with opportunities for teaching, mentorship, and academic engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- • Provide consultation and surgical care for patients with neoplastic and other diseases of the pancreas, liver, biliary tree, gastrointestinal tract, skin, and soft tissue
- • Lead the Surgical Oncology Program
- • Serve as Program Director of the Valley Advanced Surgical GI Fellowship

- • Engage in teaching, mentorship, and academic activities
Required
- • An MD or DO
- • Fellowship training in Complex General Surgical Oncology
- • Individuals with HPB surgical training will be considered
- • Board Certified/ Board Eligible in the specialty of General Surgery and, preferably, Complex General Surgical Oncology
- • Existing or Eligibility for New Jersey Medical License, DEA and CDS required

The successful candidate will provide consultation and surgical care for patients with neoplastic and other diseases of the pancreas, liver, biliary tree, gastrointestinal tract, skin, and soft tissue. As a key member of our multidisciplinary oncology team, the Surgical Oncologist will lead the Surgical Oncology Program and play a central role in its continued growth and development. This position includes serving as Program Director of the Valley Advanced Surgical GI Fellowship and as a faculty member in Valley’s General Surgery Residency Program, offering robust opportunities for teaching, mentorship, and academic engagement.
Valley–Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Care is a collaborative partnership between the Valley Health System and the Mount Sinai Health System, offering unique opportunities in clinical care, research, and education. The cancer center is located in the Luckow Pavilion, directly across from our new, state-of-the-art hospital. The surgical oncology team works closely with two gynecologic oncologists, two thoracic surgeons, and two breast surgeons, alongside eight disease-focused hematologist-oncologists, four radiation oncologists, and a full complement of advanced practice providers and oncology nursing staff. The Luckow Pavilion features six ambulatory operating rooms as well as a modern infusion center and state-of-the-art radiation oncology department. The new hospital includes 22 operating rooms and four da Vinci robotic systems, including the latest da Vinci 5 platform, supporting advanced minimally invasive surgical care.
Academic appointment to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai of Mount Sinai is available for appropriate candidates.

- Salary range of $385,600 - $400,000
