This role involves providing anesthesiology services and critical care in the CVICU, including overseeing a team of APPs caring for postoperative cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, and TAVR patients. The position includes a mix of general anesthesiology cases in the OR, OB, and some pediatric cases, with call responsibilities adjusted based on ICU service weeks.
Key Responsibilities
- • 8-12 weeks on service in the CVICU (negotiable), with home call overnight
- • Oversee a growing team of APP’s caring for postoperative cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, and TAVR patients
- • Provide general OR coverage, OB, and some healthy pediatric cases during remaining clinical weeks
- • OR call responsibilities adjusted in proportion to the number of ICU service weeks
Required
- • BC/BE in Anesthesiology
- • Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine required
- • Ability to sit for the ABA Subspeciality Certification in Critical Care Medicine
- • Eligible for Michigan licensure
Preferred
- • Additional advanced training or experience beyond fellowship is welcome but not required
- • Research and education experience and interests are preferred but not required
