Assistant Professor, Clinician Educator, Autism and Maternal/Infant Mental Health - CHOP

This role involves providing clinical assessment, intervention, and consultation services focused on autism spectrum disorder and neurodevelopmental conditions in outpatient child and adolescent psychiatry settings. It includes supervising behavioral health trainees, delivering lectures, and contributing to research in pediatric health, autism spectrum disorder, maternal/infant mental health, and health equity using qualitative methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervising behavioral health trainees (including psychology externs, interns, and fellows) in clinical practice and research
  • Giving lectures to trainees in psychology, psychiatry, and pediatrics
  • Providing assessment, intervention, and consultation services to patients in outpatient settings within the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences
  • Focusing clinical work on patients presenting with concerns related to autism spectrum disorder and/or other neurodevelopmental conditions
  • Contributing to the growth of impactful and transformative research in pediatric health and equity, including autism spectrum disorder, maternal/infant mental health, and community engaged science
  • Performing data analysis using qualitative methods
  • Manuscript preparation and dissemination of research findings
  • Providing comprehensive early autism diagnostic evaluations
  • Active involvement in infant maternal mental health research initiatives
  • Leading health equity science and community engaged research initiatives
Required
  • Ph.D. or equivalent degree
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in Pennsylvania
  • Expertise in autism spectrum disorder in early childhood and maternal/infant mental health
  • Training and experience working in clinical and research settings with autistic/neurodivergent children and their families
  • Experience in maternal/infant mental health and health equity science using qualitative methods

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track.
