Division Chief
Serves as chief or lead physician for the section, responsible for the performance and outcomes of the section. Oversees quality metrics, productivity, access, and service excellence while working closely with administrative leadership and physicians within the section.
Key Responsibilities
- • Works with administrative dyad regarding section financial performance, staffing, resource development
- • Ensures adequate resources to maintain safe practice. Promotes zero harm.
- • Ensures that Evidence Based Protocols, Order sets, protocols and policies are followed
- • Works with physicians within designated section to develop appropriate quality metrics for compensation
- • Oversees quality metric performance within designated section
- • Manages productivity in designated section. Provides coaching to physicians who fail to meet productivity expectations
- • Monitors referrals to and from physicians in the designated section of responsibility
- • Participates in financial review and performance of designated section
- • Manages access in the designated section. Provides coaching to physicians who fail to meet access expectations
- • Champions service excellence. Provides coaching to physicians who fail to meet service excellence expectations
- • Promotes and manages IH and IHMG culture
- • Works with Division Chief to develop physician enhancement plans when needed, and owns the plan
- • Conducts annual reviews of physicians
- • Participates in recruitment of physicians to designated section including interviewing of candidates. Aids in recruitment plan for section.
- • Onboards and mentors new physician hires
- • Participates in growth and development of new clinics and facilities when requested
- • Promotes and encourages innovation in section, IHMG, and IH.
- • Assists in committee membership selection
- • Attends and participates in assigned committees
- • Attends meetings and conferences as determined by Division Chief or IHMG leadership
- • Conducts monthly physician and APP meetings within section of responsibility
- • Attends leadership and coaching training when requested
- • Serves as a role model for physicians and caregivers
- • Maintains a high level of integrity
- • Member of IHMG Physician Advisory Council
- • In primary care, serves as PHSO Pod leader
- • Other duties as assigned

- • Must have served at least 1 year as a Section Chief for IHMG
- • Must be employed by IHMG
- • Experience participating in committees
- • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
Preferred
- • MHA, MBA, MMM OR IHMG AAPL (ACPE) course completion
