Instructor Position, Division of Rheumatology

Required
  • M.D. or equivalent degree

  • Expertise in laboratory-based research related to autoimmunity, inflammation, musculoskeletal medicine, or rheumatology; or clinical epidemiology related to autoimmunity, musculoskeletal medicine, or rheumatology; or health services research related to autoimmune diseases, musculoskeletal medicine, or rheumatology
The Division of Rheumatology in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Instructor positions in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of research: i) laboratory-based research that relates to general fields of autoimmunity, inflammation, musculoskeletal medicine, or rheumatology; ii) clinical epidemiology related to autoimmunity, musculoskeletal medicine, or rheumatology; or iii) health services research related to autoimmune diseases, musculoskeletal medicine, or rheumatology. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Applicants should be board certified or board eligible in Rheumatology.

Responsibilities may include research under the mentorship of a senior investigator and clinical work within the Division of Rheumatology.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to develop independence in research through writing grants and peer-reviewed publications.
