Chicago Family Health Center
Provide comprehensive women's health care in clinic, hospital, and community-based settings with a focus on serving underserved communities. Participate in inpatient hospital coverage, on-call rotations, and maintain a varied schedule including evening, Saturday, and overnight shifts. Ensure compliance with medical standards, confidentiality laws, and regulatory requirements while collaborating in a multi-disciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- • Provide direct patient care in clinic, hospital, and community-based settings
- • Serve as a specialist and consultant for referred patients
- • Participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation for patient phone support
- • Rotate inpatient hospital coverage (with hospitalist support when available)
- • Maintain a schedule including: 1 evening shift (until 8 PM) per week, 1 Saturday shift (9 AM – 1 PM) every 3–4 weeks, 1 overnight call for Trinity Hospital
- • Ensure compliance with medical standards, confidentiality laws, and regulatory requirements
Required
- • M.D. Degree, or D.O. degree from accredited school of allopathic or osteopathic medicine required
- • Board-certified or Board-eligible in OB/GYN
- • Current and valid Illinois license as a physician and surgeon
- • Current and valid DEA and IL Controlled Substance
- • Eligible for, or maintenance of, hospital privileges at affiliated hospitals
- • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting
- • Ability to maintain effective and professional relationships with patients and other members of the care team
- • Comfort working in a medical setting as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- • Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress
- • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care
- • Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage
- • Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements
- • Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise
- • Ability to appropriately handle confrontation and conflict
- • Ability to work independently and to seek consultation as necessary
- • Ability to follow organization and departmental processes and procedures
- • Ability to work in a high stress/fast paced/high work volume environment
Preferred
- • Experience in working with a diverse population base preferred
- • Bilingual ability may or may not be required based on individual department needs
