Serve as the representative and advocate for physicians, APPs, and clinicians by understanding their needs and promoting effective engagement and adoption of clinical IT and organizational strategies. Lead adoption of the electronic health record (EHR) and related digital tools, support clinical workflow redesign, and leverage data and innovation to improve performance, patient safety, and clinician well-being across multiple care settings.
Key Responsibilities
- • Serve as the representative and advocate for physicians, APPs, and clinicians by developing an understanding of their needs and building relationships to promote effective engagement and adoption of clinical IT and organizational strategies.
- • Provide leadership and support across acute, post-acute, ambulatory, and community venues to ensure alignment with AdventHealth’s mission and strategies.
- • Collaborate with Systemwide and Regional CMIOs, Market CMOs and CNOs, Chief Clinical Officers, Chiefs of Staff, Regional CIOs, operational leaders, and informatics teams to facilitate implementation of clinical IT initiatives.
- • Support design and redesign of clinical workflows to improve efficiency, patient safety, clinical reporting, and analytics initiatives, to drive best practices and clinician well-being.
- • Lead adoption of the electronic health record (EHR), related digital and innovation tools, ensuring consistent use across the enterprise.
- • Facilitate the flow of information between different care settings to support integrated, patient-centered care and to provide clinicians with the information needed to arrive at the best clinical decision and by keeping them well-informed of planned changes.
- • Leverage data, analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and innovation to drive performance improvement, reduce cost of care, expand access, and improve quality.
- • Advocate for “Speak up for Safety” and partner with the various technology teams to identify, stop, investigate, correct and avoid issues that could potentially negatively impact patients and clinicians.
- • Provide strategic guidance for evaluating and adopting new technologies (including AI, predictive analytics, remote monitoring, and imaging innovations).
- • Participate in and provide leadership to relevant committees, councils, and forums.
- • Promote compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
Required
- • Proven track record designing and leading implementation of clinical information systems and technology initiatives in a complex, matrixed healthcare organization.
- • Knowledge of healthcare strategies, clinical operations, and trends in IT, AI, genomics, managed care, evolving technologies, and consumer-focused healthcare.
- • Exceptional leadership, people management, and relationship-building skills with the capacity to engage diverse populations.
- • Strong business acumen and ability to think strategically while executing tactically.
- • Flexibility to adapt to changing organizational needs and priorities.
- • Doctorate
- • MD or DO with at least 5 years of post-residency clinical practice providing direct patient care
- • Clinical information systems experience with a focus on adoption of EHR and related tools (order entry, documentation, clinical decision support, mobile technologies, voice recognition).
- • Knowledge and experience with emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, and innovation related to Clinical IT.
- • Residency trained in an ACGME-approved specialty.
- • Medical Doctor (MD) OR Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
Preferred
- • Current or recent clinical practice (within the past two years).
