The Primary Care Physician provides medical assessments, treatment for emergent, urgent, and routine medical issues, supervises treatment for chronic conditions, and participates in organizational initiatives to prevent diseases and injuries in a correctional setting. The role involves working under the direction of the Site Medical Director and/or Statewide Medical Director and collaborating with the Health Services Administrator to ensure efficient and clinically appropriate medical services.
Key Responsibilities
- • Provides medical assessments and evaluations
- • Provides treatment for emergent, urgent, and routine medical issues
- • Provides and supervises medical treatment for chronic medical conditions
- • Participates in organizational initiatives to help prevent diseases and injuries of patients in a correctional setting
- • Works under the direction of the Site Medical Director and/or the Statewide Medical Director
- • Collaborates with the Health Services Administrator to ensure that efficient and clinically appropriate medical services are provided
Required
- • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school required
- • Active and unrestricted MD/DO license or the ability to obtain one required
- • Board Certified/Eligible in FM/IM/EM Primary Care required
- • Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and (CDS) registration
- • Ability to pass credentialing and background check
Preferred
- • Correctional Healthcare experience preferred not required

Monday - Friday Evening Shift 3-11p (Inpatient Care)
The Primary Care Physician provides medical assessments and evaluations, provides treatment for emergent, urgent, and routine medical issues, provides and supervises medical treatment for chronic medical conditions, and participates in organizational initiatives to help prevent diseases and injuries of patients in a correctional setting. The Primary Care Physician works under the direction of the Site Medical Director and/or the Statewide Medical Director and collaborates with the Health Services Administrator to ensure that efficient and clinically appropriate medical services are provided.
