The Physician provides medical assessments, evaluations, and treatment for emergent, urgent, and routine medical issues, including chronic medical conditions, within a correctional setting. The role involves working under the direction of medical directors and collaborating with the Health Services Administrator to ensure efficient and clinically appropriate medical services.
Key Responsibilities
- • Provides medical assessments and evaluations
- • Provides treatment for emergent, urgent, and routine medical issues
- • Provides and supervises medical treatment for chronic medical conditions
- • Participates in organizational initiatives to help prevent diseases and injuries of patients in a correctional setting
- • Works under the direction of the Site Medical Director and/or the Statewide Medical Director
- • Collaborates with the Health Services Administrator (HSA) to ensure efficient and clinically appropriate medical services
Required
- • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school required
- • Active and unrestricted MD/DO license or the ability to obtain one required
- • Must show/be able to obtain active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration
- • Ability to pass credentialing and background check

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm
The Physician provides medical assessments and evaluations, provides treatment for emergent, urgent, and routine medical issues, provides and supervises medical treatment for chronic medical conditions, and participates in organizational initiatives to help prevent diseases and injuries of patients in a correctional setting. The Physician works under the direction of the Site Medical Director and/or the Statewide Medical Director in collaboration with the Health Services Administrator (HSA) to ensure that efficient and clinically appropriate medical services are provided.

Qualifications
