Ponos Care
The Regional Medical Director is a senior clinical leader responsible for overseeing the quality, performance, and delivery of medical services across multiple healthcare locations within a region. Key Responsibilities
- • Provide clinical leadership and oversight to physicians and healthcare teams across the region
- • Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care aligned with organizational standards
- • Support clinical decision-making and best practice implementation
- • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
- • Develop, implement, and monitor clinical protocols and quality improvement initiatives
- • Analyze clinical performance data and patient outcomes to identify improvement opportunities
- • Lead corrective action plans to enhance care delivery and patient outcomes
- • Support evidence-based practices across clinical operations
- • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations
- • Maintain adherence to accreditation standards and clinical guidelines
- • Support audit readiness and regulatory reporting requirements
- • Oversee patient safety, risk management, and compliance initiatives
- • Collaborate with administrative and operational leaders to optimize workflows and resource allocation
- • Support staffing strategies and clinical workforce planning
- • Enhance operational efficiency across multiple facilities
- • Drive alignment between clinical and operational priorities
- • Facilitate ongoing medical education and professional development for clinical staff
- • Mentor and support clinical leaders and providers
- • Promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning across teams
- • Serve as liaison between medical staff and executive leadership
- • Communicate clinical priorities, risks, and opportunities
- • Collaborate with external partners, regulatory agencies, and healthcare stakeholders
- • Participate in regional and organizational strategic planning initiatives
- • Support expansion of healthcare services and innovation projects
- • Contribute to development of value-based care strategies and population health initiatives
Required
- • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- • Board certification in a relevant medical specialty
- • Active and unrestricted medical license in the United States
- • Minimum of 7 years of clinical experience
- • Minimum of 3 years of leadership or administrative experience in healthcare
Preferred
- • Advanced degree such as MPH, MBA, or equivalent
- • Experience in multi-facility or regional healthcare leadership
- • Proven success leading quality improvement initiatives
- • Experience with EHR systems and healthcare data analytics
- • Strong background in patient safety, risk management, and regulatory compliance

Position Overview

The Regional Medical Director collaborates closely with clinical teams, administrative leadership, and external stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives that improve patient outcomes, enhance operational efficiency, and support organizational growth. This position plays a critical role in fostering a culture of clinical excellence, accountability, and innovation.
Core Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership and Oversight
