Medical Science Liaison

The role involves acting as a trusted scientific advisor and expert, driving strategies to enhance patient care and outcomes in oncology. The Medical Science Liaison will synthesize insights from healthcare professionals, support clinical trials and research activities, and lead medical and scientific communication efforts within the territory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish yourself as a trusted scientific advisor and expert for both internal team members and external healthcare professionals.
  • Synthesize insights from healthcare professionals across your region and communicate them effectively to internal teams.
  • Serve as a reference point for integrating science into business strategies, training, and resources.
  • Summarize research findings into compelling narratives for various healthcare professional segments.
  • Collaborate with key collaborators across Medical Affairs, Commercial, and Development.
  • Drive standard process sharing within and outside the organization, applying them to Field Medical Affairs processes.
  • Lead clinical trials, research activities, and special projects.
  • Coach team members to develop strong relationships in diverse external business settings.
  • Support team members' creative ideas and recognize contributions to team success.
  • Provide input on MSL training content, assist with onboarding, and mentor new MSL hires.
  • Lead MSLs in congress scientific coverage and data synthesis support.
Required
  • Advanced scientific degree required (i.e. Pharm D, MD/DO, PhD, PA or NP) in a relevant health science or clinical subject area
  • Strong MSL experience is required
  • Proven expertise in delivering customer-related outcomes in targeted field/territory
  • Proven ability to impact Medical Affairs and MSL strategies on a regional level
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate scientific data to internal and external customers
  • Ability to work independently and in groups
  • Ability to navigate within a matrixial environment
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent project management ability
  • Ability to travel (40-60% by car and plane domestic)
  • Oncology experience required
Preferred
  • Doctorate preferred in a health-related academic field or clinical specialty
